Good full, bright red. Perfumed aromas of raspberry, spices and orange peel; comes across as distinctly higher-pitched than the Bonnes-Mares. Then dense and velvety in the mouth, with superb energy and intensity. Like a spice bazaar, with explosive fruit saturating the palate. Finishes with major, ripe tannins and compelling, mouthcoating length. It should hardly be surprising that this wine is the truest to its terroir in this extreme vintage.

(just one barrel and five liters produced; Roumier moved this into a used barrel after the September racking) Red-ruby. Perfumed aromas of raspberry, espresso, rose petal and new oak. At once suave and vibrant in the mouth; this offers much more typical Chambolle character. The most minerally and complex of Roumier's 2003s, and perhaps the least vintage-typical. Rich, complex and long, with noteworthy freshness on the aftertaste.
