Medium red. Musky nose dominated by coffee. Silky on entry, then a bit tight in the middle palate, with firm acidity dominating. Fresh flavors of minerals and bitter chocolate. Builds impressively on the back end, finishing strong and firmly tannic, with a resiny nuance.

The 2002 Morey-St.-Denis Clos de la Bussiere boasts lovely scents of dark cherries, earth, violets, and spice. Broad, medium-bodied, and silky-textured, it coats the palate with minerals immersed in blackberries. Its tannin is highly present yet ripe. Drink it between 2007 and 2012. Good saturated red-ruby. Reduced aromas of dark berries and smoke. Youthful and densely packed, but comes across as less sweet today than the Chambolle villages, with less early personality. A more medicinal, rustic style of wine, with the classic earthiness of the site.
