Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Apr 2025

The 2024 vintage is the second-smallest for Belle-Brise, after 1991, with just 6,000 bottles produced. It offers a delicately perfumed nose, dominated by little red berries and white flowers. As you swirl and reveal the wine to air, the nose becomes more and more intense, with a wide array of florals, from lilac to lily of the valley – this is one of the most elegantly perfumed Belle-Brises I can remember. On the palate, the profiles shifts to darker fruit, with supple and generous tannins that are laced with acidity and freshness. The purity of fruit – as is often the case in cooler vintages here – is impressive, with a long, sapid, elegant finish. This is a very promising Belle-Brise that should be approachable relatively young yet evolve beautifully. Aged, as normal, in a third new oak. 12.5% alcohol.

Château Belle-Brise - producer
Belle Brise

Tucked away in Pomerol’s southwest corner Ch. Belle-Brise is the ultimate insider’s Bordeaux. With just two hectares of walled garden vineyard, production at this estate is minuscule, making it one of the rarest wines in the marketplace (and arguably more exclusive than either Pétrus or Le Pin).
