Score 88-89/100 · Drink 2001-2010, Pierre Rovani, Aug 2001

The ruby-colored 1999 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Roncieres has a perfumed, talcum powder, and sweet berry-scented nose. Medium-bodied and rich, it has excellent grip as well as balance. Loads of sweet, dark cherries can be found in this seamless, elegant, yet highly expressive wine. It reveals beautifully ripened tannin in its long, supple finish. This is an offering that will be delicious upon release, and should age well for up to 8 or 9 years. Importer: Seagram Chateau and Estate Wines Company, New York, NY; tel. (212) 572-7725.

Full red. Cool aromas of raspberry, milk chocolate and mint. Sweet and intensely flavored, with firm acid spine giving the wine excellent vinosity and verve. Finishes firmly tannic and long.
