The 1999 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets has toasted mineral aromas. It is broad, deep and dense. Light to medium-bodied with tangy citrus flavors, it is a bright, fresh wine. Importer: Seagram Chateau & Estate Wines Company, New York, NY; tel (212) 572-7725.

Complex nose melds nuts, smoke, citrus fruits, herbs and a leesy nuance. Strong on the attack, then stony and bracing in the middle palate, with lively lemon and floral flavors nicely framed by brisk acidity. A very firm, long wine with a tactile, gripping finish.
