Score 95/100 · Drink 2015-2040, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015

Very clear, deep, intense and slightly smoky on the nose, the 2004 Riesling Clos Ste Hune reveals a great purity, intensity and freshness. Full-bodied, intense, and concentrated with partly overripe Riesling berry aromas, this wine has a great juiciness and intense fruity taste. More flesh and meat than the 2007 with great intensity and length; it is a great wine with a huge aging potential. With 11 years, this wine is still extremely young and quite powerful.

Bit old and neutral on the nose. Quite sweet, loose and heavy. Has lost the plot a bit. Even slightly beery. A bit alcoholic. Disappointing. (JR)

Very pungent and fine. I found it more evolved aromatically than the Cuvée Frédéric Emile, even though it won’t be released until 2010. Pungent and full with mineral top notes, like a mini 1990. Fuller than Cuvée Frédéric Emile. Very gorgeous with some tropical flower notes. Very, very long. Impressive considering the vintage’s reputation. (JR)
