From the estate vineyard in the Ribbon Ridge AVA in Oregon, the 2016 Pinot Noir The Beaux Frères Vineyard sports a translucent ruby hue as well as a classic Burgundian bouquet of dried cherries, mulberries, forest floor, baking spices, and flowery incense notes. This carries to a medium-bodied 2016 that has an elegant, silky texture, beautiful balance between its fruit, acidity, and tannins, and a great finish. This wonderfully complex, nuanced, elegant Pinot Noir will evolve for a solid decade.

Brilliant magenta. Mineral-accented red berries, incense and candied flowers on the expansive, seductively perfumed nose, with a spicy accent adding vivacity. Sappy, alluringly sweet and sharply delineated on the palate, offering juicy cherry, raspberry preserve and lavender pastille flavors that are sharpened by a zesty Asian spice nuance. Fine-grained and seamless in texture, finishing extremely long and precise, with resonating spiciness and smooth, well-knit tannins.

From vines planted in 1988 in the original Beaux Frères vineyard, the 2016 Pinot Noir The Beaux Frères Vineyard is pale to medium ruby-purple in color with a nose of fresh, crisp red and black cherries and cranberries with warm earth, dried black tea leaves and potpourri perfume plus notes of crushed rock. Light to medium-bodied, the palate has a wonderful concentration of juicy, ripe black berries and cherries in the mouth, with spicy accents of nutmeg, potpourri and dried autumn leaves, a wonderful frame of fine-grained tannins and juicy acidity carrying the very long, spicy finish. 2,700 cases produced.
