This is a little more closed though there is a deep perfume here once you coax it out. Fresh and sweet in the mouth and very lovely indeed. Elegant and delicate yet with no shortage of stuffing. Very lovely – some real delicate class to this. Very, very good.

The 2011 Barolo Cannubi Boschis is super impressive. Early signs of aromatic nuance have started to develop, but just barely. More than anything else, the 2011 impresses for its body and pure depth, both of which the 2011 has in spades. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice and spice all build as this dramatic Barolo shows off its allure. The 2011 has aged beautifully. I would prefer to drink it over the next decade. This is a re-release from the winery.

The 2011 Barolo Cannubi Boschis is brilliant stuff and shows the warmer, richer style of the vintage fabulously well. Deep, rich, and sexy, with lots of kirsch and blackberry fruits, it has classic spice, licorice, and floral notes, full body, sweet tannins, and a big finish. It’s drinking beautifully today and leads with its fruit, yet it has the mid-palate depth and balance to keep for another 15+ years.

Barolo. Pale crimson. Sweet and pure on the nose. Not the most intense 2011. Just a little chunky in structure. Masses of drying tannin on the end and a suggestion of Vegemite and something a little sour on the finish. Maybe it will all fall into place but for the moment there are some more convincing examples.
