Wet earth, fresh herbs and currant bush. Medium and firm. Pretty fruit, but a little old-style. Needs drinking.

Crimson and some evolution. Lively, elegant, old-fashioned Margaux. A bit of tannin left. 27 May 2004 (JR)

Very pale outside rim. Beginning to oxidise. Loose with a dry, rathed tired finish. Over-oaked? (JR)

Score 84/100 · Drink 2003-2006, Robert Parker, Jan 2003

An underwhelming effort for sure, this medium-bodied wine exhibits a moderately garnet color and a sweet nose of dusty red fruits intermixed with some balsam wood, Provencal herbs, and damp earth, perhaps even mushrooms. The wine is pleasing on the attack, but then becomes increasingly compressed and attenuated. Anticipated maturity: Now-2006. Last tasted, 3/01.
