Score 91/100 · Drink 2010-2035, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Dec 2023

The 2000 La Dame de Montrose would embarrass plenty of grands vins from this vintage, offering up aromas of sweet cassis, rich soil tones and black truffle, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless palate. A touch purer and less rustic than its 1989 counterpart tasted alongside, it derives from the first vintage vinified in stainless steel at this address.

Very deep colour. Strong mineral, explosive aromas. Masses of acidity. Not in balance. It does actually taste like a bit of a waste bin for several different lots of wine, some with too much acid and some with too much tannin. (JR)

A superb second wine, 39% of the production made it into the 2000 La Dame de Montrose. Revealing abundant Merlot characteristics, it offers wonderful sweetness, plenty of fat, juicy, chocolatey, black cherry and currant flavors, and a hedonistic personality. It will drink well for 8-10 years. Don't miss it! Apr 2003, www.robertparker.com
