This is gorgeous, just so juicy and powerful, full of ripe blackberry raspberry, red cherry, creamily textured and offset with tobacco, white pepper, slate. Just a lyrical sculpting of this wine that speaks of limestone, and an ever so gentle waft of smoked caramel or cocoa bean, that shows the generosity of the year. Love it. 42hl/h yield. 50% new oak.

The 2015 La Serre is bold, powerful and juicy, all qualities that are best enjoyed on the young side. Some rough edges remain, but the 2015 has filled out nicely. What comes through most is a plump, juicy, midweight wine to drink now and over the next few years. La Serre is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.

A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 La Serre sports a medium bright garnet-purple color and is scented of warm plums, crushed blackberries and fragrant earth with wafts of black olives and mossy tree bark. Medium to full-bodied, finely crafted, refreshing and with lovely purity, it has a well-played frame of grainy tannins and a mineral note to the finish.
