The 2018 Yon-Figeac showed well from barrel. Now in bottle, it has an attractive cranberry, blackberry and sous-bois bouquet that is well defined, the oak nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite dense and maybe just a little pinched toward the finish. Give this 3–4 years in bottle; I think it will open up with cellaring.

Based on 81% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2018 Château Yon-Figeac reveals a deep purple/ruby color to go with an impressive bouquet of red and blue fruits, violets, spice, and spring flowers. It picks up a beautiful sense of minerality with time in the glass and is medium to full-bodied, with a layered texture, beautiful mid-palate depth, and outstanding length. This gorgeous wine is certainly the finest I've tasted from the estate. Bravo!

The 2018 Yon-Figeac has a lot going on. Inky red fruit, iron, dried herbs, rose petal and mocha give the 2018 a decidedly exotic flavor profile. The tannins are incisive, so a few years in bottle seems warranted. Yon-Figeac is a bit wild and rustic, but certainly full of character.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Yon Figeac has a nose of ripe black plums, iodine, pencil shavings and menthol with a touch of dried Provence herbs. The medium-bodied palate gives a fair amount of savory flavors with a chewy texture and soft acidity, finishing a little medicinal and rustic.
