At ten years of age, the 2015 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is still a very young wine. Dried herbs, mint, white pepper, lemon oil and chalk lend tons of brilliance. There’s just a touch of reduction, but that works quite well here. The style is one of tension and energy, the warm vintage notwithstanding. It's a remarkably vibrant wine, but the 2015 remains a touch lean in its build, especially compared with recent vintages.

2015, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Domaine Bonneau du Martray Unexpectedly, this is the palest of the three vintages tasted on this occasion. The bouquet shows an abundance of pure white fruit, a little coconut, the stones not quite so apparent on the nose in this relatively rich vintage. Rich liquorice notes at the back. This will need quite a few years to come into balance. The warmer vintage makes the oak show more, but by no means out of balance. A promising wine which needs another five years.

The 2015 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is a powerful, dense wine. It possesses tremendous richness and tons of intensity. Radiance and phenolic intensity are two of the signatures. That's about all I can tell you, as the 2015 is nowhere near ready to drink. It does have tremendous potential though, that is clear.
