Good deep, bright red. Complex aromas of pata negra, peony, pepper and menthol. Dense and silky on entry, then saline and highly concentrated in the middle palate, with deep redcurrant and pomegranate flavors shading toward blacker fruits on the back half. Not a thick grand cru but saturates the mouth with flavor, finishing with ripe tannins and lovely salty lift. This wine only finished its malolactic fermentation in August but is already showing considerable class.
