Good bright red. Sexy aromas of red fruits, coffee, wild herbs, exotic spices and smoky minerality. Rich and creamy yet at the same time savory and vibrant; spreads out impressively to saturate the mouth with red fruit and spice flavors. Finishes with serious dusty tannins, excellent length and plenty of force. Bruno Clavelier describes 2009 as "a vintage of material, strong but tasty," and this wine is a perfect demonstration of this combination.

Juicy intense cough-sweets nose. Thick and a bit heavy. Slightly rustic. (JR)

(these vines are planted on pale calcaire soil above Musigny) Dark red. Purple fruits and crushed stone on the nose. Silky on entry, then pure and firm in the mouth, with complex flavors of red fruits, spices and minerals. This really fills the mouth with perfume, offering the combination of energy and richness of the vintage's better examples. A vertical style of wine with real tension. Finishes very long and saline, with terrific floral and spicy lift and definition.
