Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château Les Ormes de Pez has a slightly dusty, earthy bouquet that is typical Saint Estèphe. The palate is medium-bodied with bold tannin, mulberry and red plum notes, with hints of sage and cooked meat towards the finish; though a subsequent bottle demonstrated less of that distracting dustiness on the nose and also better weight on the palate. Tasted April 2016.

Tasted blind. Mid ruby. Light nose. A bit dull and ordinary. Can’t imagine this thrilling anyone. Pinched finish. (JR)

Mid crimson. Wet stones. Sweet and round but a bit simple. Stony and austere. Very dry and even a bit green on the end. (JR)
