For a mature Left Bank Bordeaux, from 2005, that remains value priced, there is a lot to like here with its ripe, dark berry, tobacco, earth and spicy profile. The wine has body, firm, ripe tannins and dark, red fruits in the finish. There is no reason to wait any longer on this wine.

Always one of the denser, richer wines in virtually any vintage, the 2005 from Tour du Haut-Moulin has that extra level of concentration, an inky/purple color, graphite, blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, plenty of tannin, medium to full body, and at least another 10-15 years of upside potential. It is long and rich.

Quite opulent nose. neat, contained, quite complex already. Satisfying – dry finish. (JR)
