The 2014 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières has a similar bouquet compared to the Bâtard-Montrachet, quite potent with spice, green apple, almost Riesling-like in style with great definition. The palate is quite gras-like in style, and perhaps here if I am to make comparisons, you might place it closer to Corton-Charlemagne. There is appreciable weight in the mouth here, good length and a generous dash of lemongrass on the finish. Very fine indeed.

(Pernot owns more than three of the ten total hectares of Folatières): Pale, green-tinged yellow. Tight, high-pitched aromas of lime, white flowers and smoky oak. Then rich, ripe, broad and sweet in the mouth, offering noteworthy glyceral depth and a saline quality to its flavors of stone fruits and flowers. A bit soft in acidity. The spicy, rising finish shows lovely length.
