Score 94/100 · Drink 2024-2038, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2021

The 2018 Pinot Noir Allen Vineyard is bright and beautifully lifted. Sweet dried cherry, mint, cedar, tobacco and spice are all wonderfully alive in the glass. The Allen is an understated, shy wine, but there is quite a bit lying in reserve. I especially like the energy and vibrancy here. I imagine the 2018 will age beautifully on those attributes. In the meantime, I would give it a few years in the cellar.

Medium ruby-purple, the 2018 Pinot Noir Allen Vineyard offers aromas of charcuterie, cinnamon stick and tree bark with strawberry and floral perfume supporting the broody, spicy nuances. Medium-bodied, the palate bursts with sweet berry fruits and bitters accents, soft, super juicy, quietly powerful but featherweight and finishing very long. 244 cases were made.
