Tank sample. Soft bricky ruby. Lots of sweet undergrowth and seductive fruit sweetness. A big tannic grip but lots of fruit still at the core. Not subtle but balanced. (JH)

The 2015 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata is an attractive, gracious La Morra Barolo that will drink well right out of the gate. Sweet tobacco, cedar, mint, crushed flowers and sweet dried cherry are all nicely lifted. Readers will find a translucent, ethereal Barolo that is all about perfume and silkiness. I would prefer to drink it over the next handful of years, give or take.
La Morra. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Balsamic cherry nose with minerally hints. Plenty of embryonic fruit on the palate. Succulent and gripping finish that is finely balanced. Contained power that is in need of further bottle ageing. (WS)
Pale brick-garnet. Chalk, nutty oak and sweet spice, overripe red-cherry fruit. Balsamic, dried, ripe cherry, chilli spice and tar. Firm, chalky tannins. Decent length. (TJ)
