(Lot 11287): Vivid ruby. Blackberry, cherry-cola and licorice on the highly perfumed nose. Deep, expansive dark fruit flavors show liqueur-like intensity and are braced by zesty mineral and spice notes. Smoothly combines richness with vivacity, finishing sappy, spicy and very long. This wine shows outstanding clarity and balance and is built for the long haul.

From Bessards and Meal. Vivid ruby. A compelling, smoky bouquet of dark berries and cherry compote, with notes of violet, cracked pepper and a hint of olive. Chewy and deep, offering sweet blackcurrant and cherry flavors and notes of candied violet and peppery spices. Firmly tannic on the impressively persistent finish, which strongly echoes the spice and floral notes.
