Medium red. Somewhat autumnal aromas of bonfire, smoky oak and spices. Juicy, spicy and firm, with less density and flesh than this producer's other 2000 Barolos. The finish here is a bit dustier and drier, with strong spicy oak showing today.

(from 34-year-old vines, the estate's oldest Barolo holding) Full medium red. Aromas of cherry, plum, smoke and menthol, plus a hint of resiny oak. Nicely balanced but reticent, with less early sweetness and more vinosity than the Brunate. Today the tannins come across as a bit drier than those of the Brunate.
