A bold, flamboyant wine, the 2015 La Fleur d'Arthus isn't holding much back. A rush of dark cherry, crème de cassis, French oak and savory herbs makes a strong opening statement. Plush and rich on the palate, with terrific underlying structure, the 2015 certainly has much to say. I would prefer to cellar it for at least a year or two to allow the tannins to soften. Time in the glass brings out a brighter register, a host of redder fruit flavors and attractive floral notes. Tasted two times.

The 2015 La Fleur d'Arthus is medium garnet-purple colored and earthy with aromas of red currants and mulberries with plums and tobacco in the undercurrent. Medium to full-bodied with nice taut fruit as well as crunchy, firm and grainy tannins and seamless freshness, it finishes long.

The 2015 Fleur D'Arthus is impressive and was made with help from Michel Rolland. It boasts a pretty, perfumed bouquet of ripe cherries, blackberries, and spring flowers in a medium to full-bodied, elegant, impeccably balanced style. Drink it over the coming decade.

Good and vibrant on the nose but awfully drying tannins on the end. A bit too much oak for the fruit, alas. (JR)
