2016 Salcheto - Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Salco Evoluzione

Darkly floral and alluring, the 2016 Nobile di Montepulciano Salco slowly blossoms in the glass with a display of ripe plums, clove, dried flowers and sweet tobacco. Its creamy textures are complemented by an elegant wave of ripe red and black fruits that flesh out across the palate, leaving saline-minerals and a coating of fine tannin in their wake. This tapers off long and lightly structured, leaving notes of blackberry and spice to linger long. The 2016 Salco is a beauty, yet it could use another year or two of cellaring to integrate its oak.
