Sweet, jammy fruit and a gorgeous earth and mushroom note very much like good mature burgundy. Medium body and rich milk chocolate to finish. Really showing charming maturity and richness. Chewy texture. (RH)

Dark crimson. More luscious on the nose than the Lamas. Broad and sweet and glorious. Layers and stunning. Real beginning, middle and end. Throat warming. (JR)

The best vineyard in the village; 0.55 ha on schist. Lava came through a fissure here so lots of basalt too – the oldest oil of Europe! Very big and round and open, thick and sweet and much sweeter than most Bierzos. Lacks the characteristic freshness of Bierzo, but impressive. (JR)
