Bright, full red. Lively nose combines red cherry, wild red berries, iron and flowers. Juicy, tight and pure, with a lovely restraint but also a vintage-typical candied quality to the wild red fruit flavors. A suave and delicate Chambertin that finishes with substantial but very fine tannins and sneaky lingering intensity.

Deep, bright red. Reticent but pure nose hints at wild berries and licorice. Tight, juicy and rather inexpressive, but already conveys an impression of energy. This is a step up in density from the Latricieres but is quite youthfully primary today, with a serious spine of acids and tannins. Finishes with subtle spice character and excellent length. The most tightly coiled of these 2007s except for the Clos Vougeot, and likely to make the best bottle in the long run.
Meaty and exciting on the nose and very definitely from around Gevrey yet with a little kick of the heels – the Beaune influence? Still chewy but the tannins are very fine. (JR)
