The 2008 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes has real class on the nose with crisp acidity, fine tension - yellow peach mixed with citrus fruit and cold stone. The palate is well balanced with a dash of spice on the entry, a fine line of acidity, harmonious and poised with commendable weight and focus on the finish. This is a classy offering from Philippe Colin and comes recommended. Tasted at Sarah Marsh's 2008 White Burgundy tasting.

Pale greenish straw. Jewel-bright fruit and some evolution. Really lovely balance of refreshing juicy fruit and delicacy. Long. Lip-smacking. (JR)

Pale greenish straw. Lightly spicy nose but not very exciting. Very tense indeed on the palate. Fresh minerality – quite racy – and lots of lemony flavour. Finishes a little dry and chewy. (JR)

Pure, fine, perfumed aromas of white peach and flowers. Juicy, complex and tight, with lovely mineral lift to the flavors of white peach and flowers. This seems more minerally than the younger 2009 and of at least equal quality. But it will require some patience. Finishes long, fine-grained and subtle.
