Score 97/100 · Drink 2024-2040, Joaquin Hidalgo, Vinous, Nov 2022

The 2019 Malbec Zingaretti Estate from Villa Bastías, Uco Valley, was 50% aged in new French barrels. A vivid purple in the glass. The nose presents fresh plum, violets and lavender over elegant aromas of cedar and mint before sour cherry notes appear later on. In the mouth, it’s delicate with finely grained tannins, fresh energy, a complex, nimble flow and a flavorful, languorous, expansive palate. the finish is full of nuance. An outstanding wine.

Black-cherry aromas with black olives, tile and damp earth. It’s full-bodied with a tight, creamy finish. Dark fruit that lasts for minutes at the end. Starts off with a bang and then ends with finesse. Drinkable now, but better in 2025.
