Medium ruby. Black raspberry, espresso and smoke on the nose. Sweet, fat and layered, with excellent volume for the year. Dark fruits complemented by a floral element. Not hugely complex but already quite expressive. Finishes with sweet tannins and excellent length.

(a special bottling from only 75-year-old vines; the label will say only La Richemone, with the appellation Nuits-Saint-George appearing underneath) Full ruby. Very expressive aromas of blackberry, cassis, dark chocolate, violet and licorice. Wonderfully silky on entry, then superripe, concentrated and creamy, with perfumed flavors of black and blue fruits, violet and bitter chocolate. Explosively long and thick on the back end, with tannins buried in fruit. (This is the same parcel of old vines from which Dominique Laurent made several extraordinarily creamy wines before Perrot purchased the Pernin-Rossin domain in 2000.)
