Score 88/100 · Drink 2005-2010, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2004

Violets as well as sweet red cherries can be discerned in the nose of the 2002 Morey-St.-Denis Clos Sorbe. Medium-bodied and satin-textured, this lively effort offers flavors reminiscent of blueberries, black cherries, and fresh herbs that linger throughout its long, tannin-filled finish. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2010. Importer: David Hinkle / Peter Vezan, North Berkeley Imports, Berkeley, CA; tel. (800) 266-6585

Medium ruby, a bit less saturated than the Herbuottes. Higher-toned, superripe aromas of roasted plum, tar, game and chocolate, with a hint of prune. Very rich and sweet, with a creamy, seamless texture. The flavor of dark chocolate carries through on the palate. Finishes with sweet tannins and very good length.
