The 2005 Chardonnay Richard Dinner Vineyard Cuvee Agustina smells like lemon custard interwoven with orange marmalade, poached pears, tropical fruits, and smoky oak. It is a full-bodied, elegant Chardonnay that should drink well for 3-4 years. Previously recommended: 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa (90), 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard (95+), 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard (92+), 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Hyde Vineyard (91), 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard (94). Yellow-gold. Sexy, open-knit aromas of guava, yellow plum and tarragon. Lush and rich, with good depth and sweetness to its tropical and orchard fruit flavors and a gentle acid lift. The finish offers a hint of nectarine and building minerality, and closes on a brisk citrus note. Give this a year or so of bottle age.
