This is a sexy, opulent, well-endowed example of the Medoc's most exotic wine. The 1994 Haut-Marbuzet is surprisingly low in acidity, with excellent ripeness, sweet, smoky, grilled toast, jammy black currant aromatic and flavor profiles, and long, round, luscious flavors that caress the palate with no hard edges. This is a plump, succulent wine that readers will find delicious. Drink it over the next decade. Last tasted 3/96

Good medium-dark color. Black raspberry and oak spice on the nose. Good brightness and moderate density in the mouth. Some wood tannins contribute to a slight finishing astringence. The '95 is deeper and denser, but there's still plenty of flesh to this '94.
