Score 95/100 · Drink 2016-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2015

The 2014 Seven Flags Chardonnay is the first release from 27-year-old vines, some of the oldest in South Africa, that are Dijon clones on two facing slopes. It went through partial malolactic. It has a crisp, mineral-driven bouquet with touches of sea salt and limestone rock. The palate is very well balanced and very Burgundy-like, more Chassagne say than Meursault with a very long, lightly spiced finish, with the 30% new oak deftly integrated. This is a stunning debut.
