Deep crimson. Complex nose. Reined in from the old Barossa stereotype with very marked acidity. Too young the enjoy now. Sinewy. Just a bit more fruit please! (JR)

Glass-staining ruby. Black and blue fruits, candied violet and baking spices are on the expressive nose. Shows very good clarity and spicy lift to its blueberry and bitter cherry flavors, which take a sweet turn through the back half. Finishes long, focused and smooth, with rounded tannins adding shape to repeating blue fruit and floral notes.

Blackberries and mulberries feature in the 2017 Entity Shiraz, a solid effort in a difficult Barossa year. The wine is medium to full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins, ample concentration and bright acidity on the crisp finish. Hints of vanilla and baking spices round out the palate and soften the edges, giving this immediate appeal.

Refined nose but still with a nice powerful Barossa mocha note. Another blend of sweet spice with biltong and five spice and a textured fine structure. The acidity is very well managed and adds vibrancy and coolness to the dense plush fruit. Impressive – as you would expect from John Duval! (AC)
