The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet Village, which comes entirely from “Pot Bois” though it is never written on the label, has an open and expressive bouquet with lime flower, a touch of peach and just a hint of dried honey. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity. There is fine salinity here, not a deep nor powerful Chassagne-Montrachet, but if retains fine balance and freshness from start to finish with a hint of fresh mango and bitter lemon, nimble on the finish that lingers in the mouth. This is a fine village cru.

The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet Villages from Domaine Lamy-Caillat is superb, wafting from the glass with a vivid bouquet of crisp orchard fruit, peach and flowers. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, velvety and texturally refined, with succulent acids, excellent concentration and a deep core, its finish strikingly long. This wine—which hails exclusively from the cool lieu-dit Pot Bois (just above the 1er Cru Les Caillerets and turned to the east)—could easily pass for a higher appellation: it's just a pity there are a mere 1,500 bottles of it.
