Good medium red. Riper on the nose than the 2014 Les Plantes, offering scents of raspberry, smoke and earth, plus a touch of menthol; conveys a warmer impression as notes of woodsmoke and leather emerge with air. Big, broad and rich; not as detailed as the 2014 Les Plantes but shows serious volume. Very round, lush wine with solid extract. Finishes with terrific breadth and berry flavor. Yes, this is a 2013, sent accidentally by the importer.

The 2013 Chambolle Musigny les Charmes comes through three plots just under les Fuesselots that make 1.3 hectares. It has a slightly more reserved, masculine bouquet compared to les Plantes at the moment, but there is still fine focus and delineation in situ. The palate is supple in the mouth, leaning more here to the red side of the fruit spectrum with cranberry and pomegranate, structured on the finish with an attractive grainy texture. Outstanding!
