The 2017 True Vineyard Immigrant plays in the same ballpark and offers classic Howell Mountain savory herbs, black olive, bay leaf, and dark, chocolaty fruit. A blend of 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, aged in 80% new barrels, drink this richly textured, concentrated, medium to full-bodied red blend any time over the coming 10-15 years.

The 2017 Immigrant True Vineyard, Outpost's co-ferment of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, is once again one of the most distinctive wines in the range. Dark red fruit, iron, white pepper, grilled herbs, licorice, menthol and a whole range of savory overtones infuse the Immigrant with tons of complexity. Dense and explosive in the glass, the Immigrant is one of the more compelling wines of the vintage.
The 2017 True Vineyard Immigrant is a barrel sample composed of 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc and 34% Merlot. It is to be aged for 20 months in French oak, 70% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose offers up intense notes of baked blackberries, plum preserves and warm cassis with hints of cedar chest, tobacco, vanilla pod and lilacs plus wafts of cloves, chargrill and tar. Full-bodied, firm and chewy, it has appealing freshness juxtaposing bags of black fruit. It has a long savory/wood-laced finish. 400 cases are to be made.
