Score 60/100 · Drink 2023, Neal Martin, Jul 2023

The 1974 Lynch-Bages was born perhaps at the nadir of the estate's fortunes. One bottle I mischievously proffered for a La Paulée style dinner in the Mosel smells of mothballs and tastes chemical. To be avoided.

Score 60/100 · Drink 1980, Robert Parker, Jan 1998

A surprisingly weak effort from Lynch-Bages, this watery, hollow wine fades remarkably fast in the glass, and the shallow, pale colors suggest a wine that was diluted significantly by rain and perhaps overcropping. Anticipated maturity: Now-may be in decline. Last tasted, 2/80.
