The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets is terrific, mingling aromas of pear, orange zest, toasted hazelnuts, white flowers and wet stones in an inviting bouquet, followed by a medium to full-bodied, dense and layered palate that's concentrated and structured, concluding with a long, chalky finish.

Tank sample. Mid lemon. A touch of reduction again, but plenty of mature apple, pear and citrus. Bright, zesty acidity and concentrated medium-to-full body. (MH)

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru has a nicely detailed bouquet of crushed stone and flint that opens discretely with aeration. A light fish scale scent/oyster shell comes through, saline and poised. The palate has a little more weight and girth than the other cuvées, and there is a little more extract than the Clos Saint-Jean on the finish. Bon vin .
