Bright cherries, black raspberries, cedarwood, and dried herbs all emerge from the 2019 Château Bourdieu, a medium-bodied, focused, elegant, almost firm 2019 that has good balance and length on the finish. The 2018 has a touch more up-front charm and generosity, but this is classic, balanced, undeniably delicious stuff, and I'd certainly drink a glass.

Plum, smoke and some mahogany aromas follow through to a medium to full body, fine yet chewy tannins and a savory finish. Give this three or four years to open. Try after 2024.

Cru bourgeois. 50% Merlot 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot.  Deep cherry red. Ripe red and black fruit, sweetly spiced. Firm, smooth tannins. Quite chewy, just fresh enough. Moreish and chewy. A bit dry on the finish. (JH)

The 2019 Bourdieu has a deep garnet-purple color and features vibrant notes of crushed red and black cherries, ripe plums and mulberries with wafts of menthol and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied, the palate has appealing freshness with soft, juicy, uncomplicated fruit and a lifted finish.
