Score 17/20 · Drink 2004-2012, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2003

The best Clarke I have ever tasted. Amazing depth of colour, quite sophisticated lift and then a gentle, not over-extracted palate with a chewy but digestible finish. Quite but not excessively inky. (JR)

Score 87/100 · Drink 2004-2014, Robert Parker, Apr 2003

An excellent effort from this property, the attractive, deep ruby/purple-colored 2000 displays copious quantities of sweet currants and cherries along with hints of underbrush, licorice, and earth. Medium-bodied yet firmly structured in style, it is one of the finest Clarkes produced in many years. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2014.
