2014 Rivers-Marie Pinot Noir Summa Old Vines

The 2014 Pinot Noir Summa Old Vines opens with striking inner perfume. A nuanced, fragrant Pinot, the Summa Old exudes class, delineation and pedigree. One of the most lifted, gracious wine in this lineup, the Old Vines is absolutely captivating today. Bright red cherry, pomegranate, blood orange, mint, rose petal and exotic spices add to the wine's considerable allure. The Old Vines emerges from a site planted in 1978 with heritage clones. A subsequent planting added rows of vines in between the original rows, but that fruit has yet to go into either of the Summa vineyard-designate Pinots.
