Slight brick colour. More lift than the Hermitage La Chapelle. Acid at a dangerous level. Very chewy. Needs anchoring to the ground it’s so volatile! (JR)

Last Tasted 12/91 Among the recent top vintages from the eighties of Chave's Hermitage, this is the most precocious and enjoyable to drink. It is far more tasty than the backward, tannic 1983. Deep ruby/garnet, with a huge nose of roasted nuts, berries, spices, and earthy scents, this full-bodied, velvety textured, exceptionally concentrated wine is a total delight to drink. Anticipated maturity: now-2005.
