Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Oct 2021

Boillot only bought this plot in 2018, with the fruit declassified to their Bourgogne Rouge until 2019. The wines are now a little older and producing a wine worthy of its own bottling. In 2020, the nose is full of spice, with layers of rich, dark fruit beneath. It’s smooth and suave on the palate – yet there’s a grip of tannins on the finish, balanced beautifully by a swathe of plush yet crunchy berry fruit.

Deep full purple, the nose seems almost discreet after the Volnays. Clos Blanc is a cooler spot. There is a firm thread running through the middle, and a tannin or two. Plenty of concentration at the back, not too ripe, good potential.
