Score 92/100 · Drink 2018-2032, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2016

The 2012 Clos Saint-Julien is a deep, powerful wine. Inky crème de cassis, wild flowers, mint, lavender and sage are some of the notes that burst forward as this deep, opulent wine shows off its personality. Clos Saint-Julien is more obvious and juicy than proprietor Catherine Papon-Nouvel's Petit Gravet Ainé. This small property is planted to 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc.

Score 90/100 · Drink 2020-2027, Robert Parker, Apr 2015

A chunky, fleshy, deep ruby/purple colored St.-Emilion with loads of fruit and density, this large-scaled, big, masculine wine should repay cellaring from 5-12 or more years. A sleeper of the vintage. For keepers of statistics, this three-acre vineyard yielded a measly 25 hectoliters per hectare from a final blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot that fetched 14.5% alcohol.
