Good medium bright red. Aromas of black cherry and licorice. Juicy, pure and intense but a bit youthfully streamlined today, showing terrific purity and penetration to its dark fruit, spice and stony mineral flavors. Lovely sappy, refined Volnay with terrific cut. Really dances on the palate on the long, vibrant, weightless finish.

Red soils for minerality above calcaire. Rich, round and charming red fruits and this only firms up on the end of the palate. Quite juicy! Sinewy. Lots of fun to be had. (JR)

An intensely spicy and strikingly fresh red and blue pinot fruit nose enjoys added breadth in the form of plum, earth and wet stone nuances. There is excellent detail and plenty of punch to the medium-bodied flavors that are brimming with a cool minerality, all wrapped in a balanced, linear and hugely persistent finish. This too is just terrific but be prepared to be patient. 92-94 points
