Score 94/100 · James Suckling, Feb 2019

A solid wine with blackberry, blueberry and hazelnut character. Full-bodied, chewy and pretty. Muscular and flavorful. Needs three to four years to soften. Better after 2023.

Winemaker Benoit Touquette compares the 2016 vintage to 2014 with its purity and balance. The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon shows the fresher style of the vintage beautifully and offers up a complex array of crème de cassis, blueberries, crushed rocks, violets, and lead pencil shaving-like notes. This full-bodied beauty has awesome purity of fruit, a seamless texture, perfect balance, and a great, great finish. Give bottles another 2-4 years, and it’s going to evolve gracefully for 20 years or more. It’s pure class.
