Score 90/100 · Drink 2019-2023, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Jan 2022

The 2017 Condrieu La Côte Châtillon is starting to fray at the edges, revealing touches of toast on the nose and a faint bitterness on the finish. In between, it's still a highly enjoyable drink, with hints of struck flint, plenty of citrus and pear flavors, and a silky, medium-bodied feel on the palate. Drink up.

Pale, green-hued yellow. Powerful aromas of ripe citrus and orchard fruits, ginger and violet are complemented by suggestions of honey and white pepper. Juicy and seamless on the palate, offering fresh pear and Meyer lemon flavors that show impressive depth and minerally drive. The citrus fruit and floral notes repeat on the pliant finish, which hangs on with strong, floral-driven tenacity.

Tasted blind. A touch of buttery character as well as apricot and peach spice with a creamy texture and plenty of length. Good, solid Condrieu. Characterful without being in your face. (RH)
