The 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru has a temptress of a nose, with open, welcoming red cherry, crushed strawberry and subtle mineral scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin. There is plenty of tightly knitted fruit here, and a patina of oak that is still to be assimilated, but also wonderful detail and subtlety on the sublime, sophisticated finish. This has enormous potential. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (DIAM 10 closure)

Bright medium red. Pure but tight aromas of medicinal cherry, licorice and smoked meat, lifted by a rose petal nuance. At once opulent and tangy on the palate, offering youthful flavors of black cherry and savory earth tones. Finishes firmly tannic, classically dry and a bit ungiving. Strong material here, but this wine will need patience.
Bright medium red. Musky scents of red cherry, redcurrant and underbrush; less perfumed than the Domaine Taupenot-Merme wines from farther north but still quite fresh. Supple and sweet on the palate, displaying good texture to the red berry and spice flavors if not quite the grip or definition of the top domain wines. This very rich wine finishes with a hint of leathery rusticity and slightly dusty, edgy tannins.
