The first release from this estate, the 1994 Queen Of Spades is fully mature and drinking beautifully today, and it actually blossoms with time in the glass. With a wild nose of ripe black fruits, smoked game, a touch of tapenade and bacon fat, it shows more purity of fruit with time in the glass, has resolved tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and is just a beautiful, mature, classy California Syrah. Anyone who doubts the longevity of the wines from this world-class estate needs to taste more.
